If you are dealing with digestive tract problems, you may want to figure out if you have yeast or parasite overgrowth. These kind of microbes can cause problems such as fatigue, nausea, bloating, gassiness, change in your bowel habits, and cramps. Yeast (AKA candida) or parasites feed on refined carbohydrates and sugars. This is the reason why it is recommended to decrease the amount of sugar, gluten, alcohol, certain dairy products, and yeast from your diet when trying to do a yeast cleanse.
It is ok to enjoy protein, non-starchy vegetables, and nuts and seeds. Here is an example of nice salad that is candida friendly. Of course, you can add some chicken or fish to make it a complete meal. Enjoy!
1/2 cup finely chopped avocado
1/3 cup chopped seeded tomato
2 tbsp finely chopped onions
1 tbsp finely diced seeded jalapeno pepper
1 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro
1 tbsp fresh lime juice
1/8 tsp salt
Directions: Combine all ingredients; toss.
